This role will be based out of our Edinburgh UK office, but we will consider hybrid working for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
As an Application Engineer, you will play a vital role in supporting Approov's technical integrations, as well as contributing to marketing and sales initiatives. Your main responsibilities will include:
Technical Duties
- Assist in the integration of Approov mobile security solutions into customer applications.
- Provide technical support to customers, troubleshoot issues, and offer guidance on best practices.
- Collaborate with the product team to test and implement new features.
- Maintain and update integration examples, SDKs, and API documentation to ensure customers can seamlessly adopt our solutions.
Content Development
- Write technical blogs, articles, and use-case studies that showcase the real-world applications of Approov.
- Develop engaging tutorials and guides to demonstrate best practices for using Approov in various scenarios.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to create educational content for webinars, whitepapers, and case studies.
Sales and Marketing Support
- Work closely with the sales team to provide technical expertise during customer meetings and product demonstrations.
- Assist in responding to technical questions and RFPs from prospective clients.
- Act as a technical advocate for Approov, contributing to social media content, developer forums, and community events.
Qualifications:
We’re looking for someone who is passionate about technology and eager to grow in a technical role while gaining exposure to sales and marketing.
Essential Requirements:
- A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Experience in software development, particularly in mobile application development (iOS, Android) and API integrations.
- Basic knowledge of security concepts such as authentication, encryption, and secure communication protocols.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
- Proficiency with one or more frontend and backend languages is essential. A desire to develop skills in many languages used by our customers while developing mobile apps or backend systems. Prevalent languages include C#, Java, Javascript, Kotlin, Swift, TypeScript.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and product development.
Desirable Skills:
- Familiarity with API security standards such as OAuth, JWT, or mTLS.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Experience in writing technical content such as blogs, tutorials, or documentation.
- Previous experience in a customer-facing technical role is a plus.
