Approov is the world leader in mobile security. As cybercriminals adopt AI tools and a mobile-first attack strategy, Approov helps organizations stay ahead of threats with runtime, zero-trust  protection of both the mobile apps that run your business and the APIs they use.

About Approov

Approov secures the world’s most targeted mobile apps and APIs with patented app attestation and runtime API protection. Our cloud-first approach ensures only your genuine mobile app, running on a safe device, can access your backends—stopping repackaged apps, emulators, bots, and man-in-the-middle attacks at the source.

From Silicon Glen to Silicon Valley

Born from two decades of deep binary and runtime analysis, Approov (spun out of CriticalBlue) operates from Edinburgh, Scotland (UK), and Palo Alto, California, protecting apps across automotive, financial services, healthcare to e-commerce, Gaming and Government.

Built for the AI Era

As mobile ecosystems open up and AI drives new attack paths and regulations, organizations need independent, cross-platform securitythat works across App Store and non-store channels (including non-GMS Android and HarmonyOS). Approov delivers that trust across fragmented platforms with low-latency, cloud-backed attestation.

Momentum and Investors

In August 2025, Approov closed a £5M Series A round to accelerate R&D and expand global reach. The round was led by the Investment Fund for Scotland, managed by Maven Capital Partners, with participation from Souter Investments and existing investors Lanza TechVentures and Scottish Enterprise.

Approov is a privately held company backed by leading investors, including Lanza TechVentures, Scottish EnterpriseMaven Capital Partners and Souter Investments.

Where we're Heading

Our mission is clear: make trustworthy mobile-to-API communication the default, regardless of device, OS, or distribution channel—so you can ship ambitious mobile and AI experiences with confidence.
